Bringing marine conservation to the heartlands

When it comes to getting the marine conservation message out, 2016 has been a busy year for the S.E.A. Aquarium team.

Working with Singapore’s grassroots communities, the team took part in six community outreach events for the public at various locations around Singapore. It was especially heartening to see children engaging with the marine creatures and learning about marine life at these events.

So far, S.E.A. Aquarium has managed to share the importance of protecting the oceans with about 15,000 people, both young and old.

The final event of the year was held at Teck Ghee Constituency as part of their New Year’s Eve Countdown Celebration. Residents got up-close with marine animals at the touch pool, made shark craft, and learnt about the importance of marine conservation through games.
