150 EAS from 11 schools participated in workshop at S.E.A. Aquarium and Maritime Experiential Museum

On 2 July 2018, S.E.A. Aquarium and The Maritime Experiential Musuem hosted a workshop for 150 executive and administrative staff (EAS) from 11 schools. Organised in collaboration with the EAS committee from Marymount Convent School and National Junior College, this special day out was meant to commend EAS for their hard work, as well as to provide an opportunity for team bonding and learning.

The workshop’s programme was designed to encourage EAS to have a better understanding of the progress of Singapore from a humble trading port to a world-class global hub port, and what goes on at a world-class aquarium.

Dr Low Guat Tin, an Associate Trainer with Skill Explorer Training Singapore, conducted a 2-hour workshop to inspire EAS on how to sustain their passion and enjoy their work.

This was followed by a talk by Gavin Lee, Senior Manager of Education, who introduced both S.E.A. Aquarium and The Maritime Experiential Musuem, and shared the uniqueness of each attraction.

Jim Hudson, Senior Manager of Conservation, introducing our conservation group Guardians of the S.E.A.A., and sharing what the Blue Committee in RWS is doing to improve our sustainability efforts.

After lunch, they embarked on a 60min Ocean Quest tour around S.E.A. Aquarium, learning about the various marine animals and picking up marine conservation messages from our educational facilitators.

They then visited The Maritime Experiential Museum for a 60-minute customised scavenger hunt, where the winning teams were awarded prizes.

Participants had to go round the museum in search of answers to 10 questions on maritime history and exploration. They also got to experience what it is like to sail into a terrifying storm at Typhoon Theatre.
