Fun learning beyond the classroom at S.E.A. Aquarium

Students learn best when they are enthusiastically engaged. This is especially true of young learners who developmentally have shorter attention spans and need to wiggle.

From January 2018, S.E.A. Aquarium will be introducing a new series of interactive learning programmes for school groups, to inspire and educate students on marine life and conservation. Here’s a quick look at what’s available.

Mai’s Underwater Journey


This brand new programme takes young learners on an ocean journey to meet fascinating marine animals around the S.E.A. Aquarium.

  • Storytelling to facilitate understanding and knowledge retention

Duration: 60 – 90 min

Ocean Quest


Do you know that the octopus has three hearts and sea jellies have no brains? Go on this interactive guided tour by our education facilitators to uncover fascinating behaviours and biology of marine animals.

Benefits:

  • In-depth understanding of marine life and habitats through facilitated tour of S.E.A. Aquarium
  • Get up-close with marine animals to have a better look at them

Target group: preschoolers, primary and secondary school students

Wonders of the Sea

S.E.A.² Quest
Develop an in-depth understanding of marine biodiversity, interactions between marine life in underwater habitats, and adaptations of marine animals to their environments. Educators can choose from differentiated learning booklets to complement the facilitated tour.

  • Learn anatomical features of marine animals and how these unique characteristics help them in their fight for survival
  • Comes with differentiated acitivity booklets for the different levels
  • Helps students view marine animals with greater insight and understanding

Feeding Frenzy

Go behind-the-scenes at S.E.A. Aquarium to learn about the feeding habits of different marine animals. The students will even get to use microscopes to view tiny marine organisms, and experience a feeding session with marine animals!

S.E.A. Aquarium Careers


This is a great way to gain insight into the different careers at one of the world’s largest aquariums. Learn about the organisation, meet the dedicated people, and take a special tour of the aquarium facilities.

Benefits:

  • Interact with marine specialists to better understand their roles and responsibilities
  • Help students better evaluate their education plans and make career enhancing decisions
  • Includes visits to some of the work places of our marine specialists to better understand their job scope

Duration: 120min (upper primary) / 150min (secondary)
