First launched in June 2013, Ocean Art Charity is a visual arts charity campaign presented by Resorts World Sentosa and The Old Parliament House Limited.
Young, talented visual artists aged 19 and below are invited to submit marine life-themed artworks and raise funds for two children charities – The Business Times Budding Artists Fund to help realize the dreams of young artists from financially-disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund to help provide pocket money for underprivileged children.
The 15 finest artworks shortlisted by a selection committee will be exhibited at the S.E.A. Aquarium. A silent auction will be held for these artworks and proceeds will be donated to the two charities. Auction forms are available at the S.E.A. Aquarium.
One of the talented artists who took part in last year’s launch of Ocean Art Charity was child prodigy Dawn Kwan (now age 17). She has previously contributed her paintings for charity. These paintings have been auctioned to benefit children in Vietnam and Thailand. Read more about her here.
Come view the shortlisted artworks at the S.E.A Aquarium from 15 – 30 March 2014. For the right price, you could even bring home your preferred pieces and make a difference to the lives of young children from less privileged backgrounds.
