What does it take to care for more than 100,000 marine animals inhabiting 50 different habitats? How do you manage the thousands of guests that visit the aquarium every day?
At the S.E.A. Aquarium, different teams of experts come together to make possible the smooth running of the aquarium. They include aquarists, veterinarians, veterinary laboratory technicians and operations personnel.
To help students understand how all these parts come together is the new and enhanced S.E.A. Aquarium Careers educational programme for school groups. The programme will:
- Share details about the roles of the aquarium (it’s not just a place to visit!)
- Provide insights on career opportunities at S.E.A. Aquarium
- Let students meet and hear from the dedicated experts the roles they play, realities of the job and challenges they face
- Let students see just what goes on behind the panels, on a special tour of the aquarium facilities
Apart from managing guests and answering questions, our operations team is also trained to educate them in marine life and conservation.
The S.E.A. Aquarium Careers educational programme is aligned to new MOE Education and Career Guidance syllabus. The programme covers the overarching Key Understandings of Identity, Choices and Relationships, while engaging students in a relevant manner.
