If you’re planning a visit to the S.E.A. Aquarium with the children this June school holidays, don’t miss the Imagine | Native educational fair from 27 May to 12 June. You’ll find the event at Basement 1 of the Maritime Experiential Museum at S.E.A. Aquarium.

Besides coming for the selection of carefully curated books (as you would find at any other book fair), you can meet authors and illustrators who will be here for storytelling, book reading, art workshops and other activity sessions. Here are some of the expected special guests:
- A.J. Low
A.J. Low (Adan Jimenez and Felicia Low-Jimenez) are the authors of the award-winning Sherlock Sam series. Their work Sherlock Sam and the Missing Heirloom in Katong won the International Schools Libraries Network’s Red Dot Award 2013-2014 in the Younger Readers’ Category.
- Stephanie Wong
Stephanie is the illustrator and designer of the series The Diary of Amos Lee which has sold more than 240,000 copies worldwide. The picture book series has been adapted into a television series in Singapore on okto. - David Seow
David is the author of Sam, Sebbie & Di-Di-Di series which includes 12 books. The series which features his young niece and nephews as the main characters was first launched in 1998 and was revamped in 2013.
- Hwee Goh
Hwee is the author of Timmy & Tammy Discover Series: Lee Kuan Yew, a biography of the late-Lee Kuan Yew for young readers. She was a political journalist and editor at MediaCorp. She was also on then-Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew’s press corps on his trips abroad from 1997 to 2002.
- Jason Lundberg
Jason is the author of children picture books A Curious Bundle for Bo Bo and Cha Cha series. He is an editor at independent publisher Epigram Books and a prolific writer of fiction.

Besides author appearances, here are some of the scheduled activities happening at this educational fair:
- Siren’s Sing-A-Long: Watch our Singing Fishy Friends sing and dance, with a special appearance by our Manta Ray mascot at the end.
- Neptune’s Legends: Listen to captivating stories about our oceans filled with many fun facts.
- Deep Ocean Oracle: Ask the Oracle, who lives in the Magic Mirror, questions about creatures of the deep and learn amazing facts about marine animals.
- Meet the Authors and Illustrators: Listen to authors tell stories and attend their talks or writing workshops. Watch illustrators demonstrate their craft and get the kids’ creative juices flowing with art jamming.
Happening throughout the day at Imagine | Native:
- Tell the Manta Rays Apart: Discover the secret to identifying Manta Rays at this interactive station, and get a chance to name the real-life Manta Rays that live in our aquarium!
- Colour the Mural: Learn about the ocean’s food chain by colouring the mural.
- Who’s My Mummy? Match the young of marine animals to their parents at this interactive station.
- Interact with Marine Animals: Touch pools will be set up specially for Imagine | Native so kids can have hands-on encounters with sea stars and other marine life.
